When Claire approached us with a £10,000 budget and a tight deadline to have her living room transformed in time for Christmas, we knew it would be an exciting challenge. Claire’s vision was clear: she wanted a modern, vibrant space filled with colour, patterns, and thoughtful details. Her must-haves included a stunning new stove and fireplace, refreshed flooring, stylish curtains, comfortable cushions, and carefully chosen lighting and accessories to tie everything together.
While Claire originally hoped for entirely new flooring, it wasn’t feasible within her budget. However, we saw the potential in her existing hardwood floors. Rather than replacing them, we refinished the wood, breathing new life into the space and achieving that “new floor” feeling she desired. This decision not only saved money but also preserved the character of her home.
The new stove and fireplace became the centerpiece of the room, radiating warmth and serving as the perfect focal point for cozy evenings. To complement this, we selected curtains in bold, patterned fabric that added both colour and elegance. Cushions in contrasting shades and textures brought the sofa to life, creating a playful yet sophisticated vibe. Layered lighting—including a statement overhead fixture, soft accent lamps and feature lighting within the fireplace—ensured the room felt welcoming and functional for any occasion.
Accessories were carefully chosen to reflect Claire’s love of modern design and vibrant patterns. From decorative vases to stylish framed artwork, every detail was curated to make the space uniquely hers. The final result was a room that balanced practicality with personality, perfect for entertaining guests or relaxing during the holiday season.
Claire was thrilled with the transformation, calling it her “dream space” Her satisfaction was evident when she immediately asked us to take on another project: adding a custom love seat for a cozy window nook. This piece will not only enhance the space but also create a charming spot to enjoy the room’s beauty.
